Electronic data interchange has resulted in the boosting of profit and productivity for business. Companies are able to be competitive by migrating from a paper-pencil driven society into an electronic media civilization. However, the electronic media world is looking to make another change. In this ever growing and maturing age of information, more and more people are implementing computers to communicate with one another. Now, people all over the world, have the capability of connecting to other computers anywhere on the globe. The purpose of this paper is to compare the advantages and disadvantages of the traditional electronic data interchange system versus the Internet electronic data interchange system.
