The implementation of the laptop program at Ryerson University provides a basis for further research on learning styles in this technology enabled environment. In particular, the impact of this laptop teaching/learning environment on deep and surface learners is the subject of a longitudinal study. The purpose of this paper is to share initial findings and observations on the data collected from the 1st group of students enrolled in the program and to invite comments for the next stage of data collection and analysis.
