This paper compares the ISECON model curriculum approach and topic areas to the National Security Agency’s most common standard for information assurance certification -- the National Security Telecommunications and Information Systems Security Instruction (NSTISSI) No. 4011. Comparing these two standards provides a unique vantage point to better examine the merits of government and academic/industry expectations in the information security area.
