Computer Security & Information Assurance Curriculum: Addressing Critical Infrastructure Protection Needs for Industry and Government

A frequent cry from potential employers is that college graduates are not equipped with the knowledge needed to start a security job. With the growing number of diverse information security careers as well as the focus of the current administration on cybersecuirty, it has become evident that a more interdisciplinary and multi-tiered curriculum is needed. To address this issue, Norwich University in Northfield, Vermont has implemented a two-track curriculum: one track focusing on the management of information security and the other on more technical aspects. Norwich's program is national Secuirty Agency-certified as a Center of Academic Excellence and continuous improvement process has been implemented to ensure high-quality education and subsequent NSA certifications. This conversational roundtable should focus educators and industry partners alike on idea sharing, curriculum improvement, and student preparation for the workplace.
