The AITP Board of Directors, the FITE Board of Directors, and the EDSIG Board of directors has provided the appointment of H. Longenecker to direct a new form of curriculum development that will be con-competitive with other societies, and has appointed Steve Reames to serve a liaison between the boards, and the related industries represented by AITP to facilitate the new approach. The AITP recognizes that its reach spans the disciplines of information systems, information systems, applications development, data management, and information security assurance. The AITP has challenged the academicians to come up with better, stronger, and more effective models to provide guidance to high schools, colleges, and students and faculty of both sets of institutions. Furthermore, the AITP has promised access to its membership to be helpful in ways to be determined. This panel will discuss each of the following factors that it perceives are relevant to successful curriculum Thematic Program Defined Skill Exemplar Course Sets For Initial, Middle And Final The Program Must Be Learner Centered Necessity to Master Critical and Computational The Curriculum Must Be Nationally Assessable.
