ISCAP Proceedings: Workshop Presentation
How to Implement a Digital Achievement Wallet for your Students
Edward Moskal
Saint Peter's University
Objectives
This workshop will provide the details on how Saint Peter’s University implemented a
Digital Achievement Wallet for students in computer science/cybersecurity to include a
demo of the iQ4 Corporation products that were provided, creating a skills-marketplace,
connecting employers and students.
Saint Peter’s University has partnered with iQ4 over the past six years to provide
students with an industry recognized macro-credential while completing virtual
cybersecurity mentor-lead pre-apprenticeships using the National Institute of Standards
and Technology (NIST) framework. As part of the pre-apprenticeship projects, which are
3-credit courses, students received a Digital Achievement Wallet. Each student benefits
from the Wallet as it enables them to promote their education, job history, skills,
proficiencies, portfolio of work, badges, credentials, certifications, find career pathways
to suitable roles, and be matched to employers’ skills-based hiring needs.
Faculty, career services, and companies/organizations that need to fill jobs with college
students (internships, apprenticeship, full-time) would benefit from attending this
workshop.
The workshop will provide:
- A demo of the Digital Achievement Wallet and Employer Skills Talent Pipeline applications.
- How the NICE Framework and KSAs are used with AI and Machine Learning to pathway students into jobs.
- How did buy-in work at Saint Peter’s University and how the Digital Achievement Wallet has benefited students.
- How to get buy-in from administration, colleagues, your department.
- How a branded Digital Achievement Wallet can be adopted for your school
