Preparing Information Systems and Cybersecurity Students for Ethical Challenges Through Debate-Based Learning

Abstract
The rapid integration of continually emerging technologies that pose challenges to ethical practices into organizational strategies, coupled with the common lag between regulation and social norms behind practice, will remain a significant challenge for students of information systems and cybersecurity throughout their professional careers. It is essential for current students to recognize that skills in ethics analysis are indispensable rather than optional in the contemporary landscape. This curriculum presentation is designed to impart ethical analysis skills to students within information systems and cybersecurity programs by engaging them in active classroom debates centered around cases from the cutting edge of technology. An advantage of this methodology is its capacity to evaluate student learning outcomes in real time, eliminating the reliance on written assessments.
