Abstract
The Intelligent Enterprise (IE) academic program is forward-focused graduating Next Generation talent for industry partners. To the best of the primary investigator’s knowledge, the author is the first to establish an Intelligent Enterprise academic program in higher education. This program is designed based on the author’s 16 years as an SAP consultant and his DBA training as a practitioner-researcher, understanding industry needs and emerging technologies and methodologies, and leveraging the SAP University Alliances (UA) program. The Intelligent Enterprise academic program is an integrated information systems education which includes SAP S/4HANA Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC), HEC Montreal ERPsim Lab games, and advanced technologies such as Artificial Intelligence and Blockchain culminating with the Digital Transformation course. This is an exploratory qualitative research study focused on the Intelligent Enterprise academic program’s innovate design, implementation, and high-impact for students and industry partners. The focal research questions are: 1. How is the Intelligent Enterprise academic program design innovative? 2. How is the Intelligent Enterprise academic program meeting the needs of industry partners by graduating Next Generation talent? The research is grounded in Engaged Scholarship where the primary researcher is also actively involved with ten years of archival data and access to numerous stakeholders. Contributions to theory and practice may include innovation, organizational change management for equilibrium disruption, implementation roadmap, and critical success factors.
